UK-China-EU Battery Workshop

UK-China-EU Battery Workshop

On Monday 25th November, experts from industry, associations and academia from China, the UK and the EU came together for a workshop on UK-China-EU carbon footprint compliance and supply chain risks for batteries at the Department of Engineering at the University of Cambridge. This was born out of a collaboration between Tsinghua University and Cambridge University, ‘Towards open-source inventory data for battery supply chain sustainability’, led by Professor Ming Xu and Refficiency’s Professor Jonathan Cullen.

Discussions drew on new green trade policies, such as the EU battery regulation, strategies to reduce carbon footprint compliance costs and manage supply chain risks, and opportunities for reducing emissions from industry.
